Another reason that this can be a bad idea is that some repair shops will just “inflate” the issue that your car has. They will tell you lots of issues and make you pay for unneeded repairs. Alternatively, some might just offer you expensive services. Long story short, they will take advantage of you.
If the first and second options do not work for you, you can just try to trade your car. Even if your car can be irreparable, some people will still be interested. Some of them might be interested in getting that specific car model you have. Some of them might need to get the parts of your old car as spares.
